Akiko Tsuruga immigrated to the United States from Japan in 2001, but sometimes she sounds almost as if she grew up on the South Side of Chicago. Tsuruga plays Hammond B-3 organ with all the soulfulness and joy one might have encountered in a neighborhood joint back in the '50s.
